Nam Gia Seafood Restaurant (Nhà hàng Năm Giã) is a family-run seafood restaurant right on the sand at Lot 2 (right side), An Bang Beach, Hoi An. It was opened in 2000 by Mrs. Trần Thị Giả, who was born in An Bang village – the village that gives the beach its name – and it is still run by her family today.

Our story

When Mrs. Giả opened the restaurant in 2000, the idea was simple: serve the seafood of her home beach the way local families eat it – chosen alive, cooked simply, eaten by the sea. More than 25 years later, that is still how we work.

How we serve seafood

  1. Choose from the tanks. Prawns, crab, lobster, fish, snails and shellfish are kept alive in saltwater tanks until you order.
  2. Weighed in front of you. Live seafood is sold by weight at the day’s price; we weigh it at your table and confirm the price before cooking.
  3. Cooked your way. Garlic butter, steamed with lemongrass, grilled with scallion oil, salt and chili, tamarind, cheese or salted egg sauce.
  4. Eaten by the sea. A covered beachfront terrace with an open sea view – shaded at lunch, breezy at dinner.
